On March 1 (local), Tomoyuki Kawabata (Okayama, 95th term) won a silver medal in the men's Keirin event of the "2018 Bicycle Trucking World Championship" held in Aperdorn, the Netherlands.
The podium at the Men's Keirin at the World Championship is the first achievement since Minoru Yoshioka (retirement), who ranked third in 1993.
